PLA or PETG: choosing filament for your part
For a first spool used in decorative parts and learning the process, PLA is often easier to tune. PETG shifts the balance for applications needing different mechanical or thermal behavior, with more attention to adhesion, stringing and moisture.
Define use before brand
Write down whether the part will see sunlight, heat, load or outdoor use. Check the material data sheet and manufacturer’s recommended print profile; a generic comparison is not a durability guarantee.
